A small local store right by Azama Port, where ferries leave for the sacred island of Kudaka. Handmade rice balls, grilled sandwiches, and coffee in Okinawan pottery.
“Kyodo Baiten” means a community-run store — a tradition in Okinawa where residents keep a shop alive together. This one opened in 2018, funded by crowdfunding, after neighbours said they had nowhere nearby to shop or gather. Today it serves both local residents and travellers heading to the island, the beach, or the sacred site of Sefa-utaki.
Eat at the outdoor terrace, or take it with you on the ferry.

Sweet buns and savoury breads, changing daily. The bakery uses no additives or preservatives.

Magnets, holographic stickers and T-shirts featuring Pū, our resident shop cat, made together with a local artist. You may well meet the model himself on the deck outside.
Snacks, drinks, awamori and everyday necessities. We also stock treats from popular local makers, and vegetables grown by neighbours. Bicycle rental is available too.
Pū, a fluffy ginger-and-white cat, is the face of the shop — along with a second cat and a friendly dog.
